The Nagar Nigam Kashipur was established on March 5, 1872 by the district code No. 334-A of the United Provinces. Then it was a fourth grade municipality, and its area was 1.50 square kilometers. After this, on 23rd May 1957, in independent India, it was granted status quadruplicate from class IV to third grade, and on December 1, 1966 from third to second grade municipality. After the expansion of the municipal boundaries in 1966, the area was 2.25 sq km. On March 13, 1976, the extension of the municipal Kashipur border and its area was fixed at 5.456 sq km. The next year, on January 6, 1977, Nagar Nigam Kashipur was given the level of first class municipality.
Kashipur Nagar Nigam has been divided into 20 wards, However, the municipal corporation is engaged in the process of making 20 new wards, which we incorporated in Nigam Region on date 28 Febuary 2013 vide notification ___________.
